An Inconvenient Truth

An Inconvenient Truth
An Inconvenient Truth

Politics aside, few would have thought of Al Gore as a compelling presence—sure he created the Internet and discovered anti-gravity, but front man for a motion picture? Jokes aside, this film is not: It’s a serious and well-designed treatise on a subject that will not go away, and which we Americans need to be aware of—in a big way. Global warming isn’t a joke to the filmmakers, and most will agree after seeing this documentary. Gore presents a passionate and at times inspirational view of the world and the problem being encountered. Besides delving into his character, the movie actually contains humor, pervading into the facts and science and technologies—so as to allow the viewer to feel less put upon and more like a willing observer.

There’s nothing problematic about the presentation of the DVD to cause on to be turned off by either what is seen or discussed. Audio is crisp and clear.

Additions are extensive and include an interview with Gore, commentary by the director and producers, and even a music video by Melissa Etheridge.

Besides environmentally friendly packaging, the back of the DVD package directs teachers to www.climatecrisis.org –where a free, downloadable educational guide is available. A portion of the DVD sales is being donated to the bipartisan climate effort Alliance for Climate Protection.
