Manoj Motwani, M.D. is an eye surgeon by day, specializing in refractive surgery in La Jolla, CA. By night he is an audiophile and videophile who has been writing for magazines such as DVD ETC, HDTV ETC, and The Perfect Vision since 2001.
His specialty has been mid and high end audio and video, and he also avidly follows the technological changes that occur within the industry. Born in India, he grew up from the age of six in New York City, and has been a transplant to San Diego since 1999. His audio roots go back to a set of cheap white van speakers, and have progressed over the years to his current B&W 800 series speakers system. He enjoys making a review accessible to the reader, so the reader can enjoy the experience with him, while still relaying the technical virtues. It is this balanced approach that he takes to all reviews, whether they are for a high priced speaker system or a $200 DVD player.
