Felix E. Martinez

Felix E. Martinez is a writer, filmmaker, musician, multimedia specialist, and home theater enthusiast.  He has contributed to DVD Etc. Magazine and HDTV Etc. Magazine – where he founded its “Hi-Definition Listening” column covering the DVD-Audio, SACD, and DualDisc music formats – and has written for other national publications and international online resources in the areas of home theater, movie/music software and hardware reviews, and multimedia production.

Felix has directed two short films - "The Giving" and "A Monk Jumped Over a Wall" - which have played at film festivals and have been covered by national media.  He recently added "playwright" to his list of skills and collaborated with Hispanic talk show host celebrity, Lili Estefan, on her segment in New Theatre's "Miami Stories."

Felix is also a voting member of NARAS (the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences) – which produces the popular televised Grammy® Awards program and helps bring music education to public schools through its MusiCares® program – and he has earned awards for his musical talents, including certificates of achievement for the 1990, 1993, 1994 and 1998 national Billboard Magazine songwriting competitions.

He owns a home multimedia production studio that was recently upgraded for high-definition video and hi-res surround sound, and handles all of the post-production and music for his films and projects.

When he's away from his studio, Felix exercises the left hemisphere of his brain and can be seen in the South Florida business community as the marketing director for the South Florida Branch of AXA Advisors, LLC – a worldwide leader in financial protection and wealth management – where he has worked for nearly 17 years.  His marketing and public relations achievements led to his recognition as a finalist in the South Florida Business Journal's "Up And Comers" awards, which recognizes outstanding young business leaders under the age of 40 who have achieved a solid measure of success in a variety of professions, businesses, and non-profit organizations.
